To select a data-entry field or icon by clicking on it. This is generally represented with a bolded outline or reverse video.

To Highlight: A data-entry selection is made by clicking on it; You can select text or a graphic by clicking and dragging across it, or by double clicking on it. Once highlighted, a text or graphic item may be copied, moved, or deleted.
